These terms govern use of the Southern Maine Siding website, where homeowners in Cumberland and York counties read about new siding and send us estimate requests. Siding work we do is covered by its own signed contract, and nothing in these terms changes that contract.

Every price on the site is an average range for planning, not a quote, and an estimate from us is free and binds no one. Maine law requires a signed written contract for home construction work over $3,000 and limits the first down payment to one third of the price.

Effective October 19, 2026. Last updated October 19, 2026.

By using this website, you agree to these terms. Siding work we do for you is governed by its own signed contract, and nothing on this page changes that contract.

Who We Are

Southern Maine Siding is a siding installation and repair business serving Cumberland and York counties, Maine, with an office in Westbrook. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Southern Maine Siding, and "you" means anyone using this site.

Who May Use This Site

You must be 18 or older to use this website. By using the site, you confirm that you are.

Acceptable Use

You may use this site to learn about siding and to tell us about your house. Please do not submit false information or someone else's contact details, and do not try to disrupt how the site works.

Prices Shown on This Site

The siding prices on this website, including the per-square ranges by material and the ranges by house size, are averages drawn from many quotes. We publish those ranges to help you plan, and none of them is an offer or a quote for your house.

Your own price depends on what we find at your walls, such as rot or failed flashing under the old siding, the height of each wall and the amount of trim. Repairs carry no published price at all, because we price each repair from a visit to the house.

Free Estimates

An estimate from us is free, and asking for one commits neither of us to anything. The estimate is not binding on either side unless it becomes part of a written contract that you and we both sign.

We may decline a request, for example a house outside the towns we serve or work we do not take on, such as roofs, windows or new houses.

Written Contracts and Down Payments

Maine law requires a written contract, signed by you and by us, for any home construction contract over $3,000 in materials or labor. Under 10 MRSA ยง1487, each side receives a copy before work begins, and the initial down payment is limited to one third of the contract price.

The signed contract, not this website, sets the scope, the materials, the price and the payment terms for your job. If the old siding comes off and shows rot or damaged sheathing, the contract's change order terms decide how that added work is approved and priced.

No Warranty From This Website

Nothing on this website is a warranty or a guarantee of any kind. Any warranty that applies to your job is the one written into your signed contract or published by the maker of the product.

Contractor Licensing in Maine

Maine does not license general contractors, and that includes siding contractors, so there is no state contractor license for us to show you. What protects you on any job over $3,000 is the signed written contract the state requires.

Permits and Town Review

Each town decides whether siding work needs a permit and whether to grant one, and a historic district or a shoreland zone can add its own review. When a permit is needed we apply for it, but approval stays with the town and we cannot promise it.

Timing and Schedules

Weather, deliveries, permits and what turns up behind the old siding all move a job's timing. Any timeline we give you is a plan, not a promised start or finish date.

General Information Only

What this site says about siding materials, flashing, lead paint, older asbestos siding, building rules and costs is general information. Use that information to plan, not as engineering or legal advice, and not in place of a look at your own walls.

Homes built before 1978 may have lead paint, and federal lead-safe renovation rules govern work that disturbs it.

Text Message Terms

These terms apply once you agree, on one of our forms, to receive our texts.

  • What you receive: texts about your estimate request and the siding project that follows it.
  • Cost and frequency: message and data rates may apply, and the number of texts varies with your project.
  • Stopping and help: reply STOP to end our texts or HELP for help, and one confirming text follows a STOP.

Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Your consent to our calls and texts is not a condition of any purchase.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your phone number and your consent.

Content Ownership

The words and photos on this site may be protected by copyright. Please ask us before you copy or republish any of them.

Some pages link to outside sources such as town websites and state and federal agencies. Those organizations run their own sites and answer for what they publish.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent the law allows, Southern Maine Siding is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages from using this website or relying on its general information. Work done under a signed contract is outside this limit and is governed by that contract.

Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms at any time, and the version on this page is the one in force. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the revised terms.

Governing Law

The laws of the State of Maine govern these terms. Any dispute about this website belongs in a state or federal court in Maine.
